British High Commissioner Rebecca Terzeon Impressed by Sport in Action & Wallace Group Collaborative Work

Rebecca Terzeon, the newly appointed British High Commissioner to Zambia, visited the Kabwata Playpark to witness firsthand the impactful work of Sport in Action and The Wallace Group. Within just a month of taking office, Terzeon displayed her commitment to engaging with local organizations making a positive difference in Zambian communities.

During her visit, Terzeon was greeted by Wallace Group International Sport Development Manager, Jack Preston, and Sport in Action Executive Director, Frankson Mushindu, among others. She spent time exploring the site, interacting with participants and coaches, and gaining a deeper understanding of the organization’s mission.

Terzeon was particularly impressed by Sport in Action’s collaborative efforts with the Duke of Edinburgh Zambia, which provides educational opportunities for vulnerable populations. She also praised the organization’s focus on gender equity, highlighting the importance of educating both boys and girls on social gender issues.
“with sport in action it’s not just about sports and the health benefits, but also about building confidence, life skills, and facilitating important discussions just as I have seen” Terzeon remarked.

Jack Preston commended Terzeon’s exceptional representation of the United Kingdom, noting her willingness to engage with local communities and learn about their work.
“It was an honor to host her, and we hope this is the first of many visits,” he added.
As Terzeon begins her tenure in Zambia, Sport in Action welcomes her and wishes her a successful and fruitful experience in the country.
