The UK helps Zambia overcome the challenges of inequality and address threats to stability. This is achieved by: creating jobs; improving economic management which attracts investment; helping government increase its tax revenues and so reduce its reliance on the UK and others who provide aid; reducing extreme poverty through investment in better health, education, sanitation and nutrition services; and reducing violence against women and girls and providing support to the survivors of violence.

World Vision began work in Zambia in 1981 with three small community developments projects in Mkushi district north of Lusaka. Today the organisation runs 40 large scale Area Development Programmes (ADP) across the 10 provinces of the country, which provide support to approximately 120,000 registered children and impacts more than two million people nationwide in areas of health, education, livelihood security and HIV and AIDS support.

The Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF) is an umbrella organisation which overlooks all national sports federations in Norway. NIF has approximately 2,100,000 members, 19 regional confederations, 366 sports councils and 12, 178 clubs. The General Assembly of NIF is the supreme governing body of organised sport, and is held every fourth year.

The Wallace Group is a partnership created in 2004 by several leading UK Universities to support sports development for young people in Zambia. Their mission is to positively impact young Zambian people by empowering and enriching communities, through the power of sport, leadership and education.

Pact began working in Zambia in 2015 to reduce new HIV infections in the country. While Zambia has made considerable strides in slowing the spread of HIV, its prevalence rate remains one of the highest in the world, and the number of people living with HIV continues to grow. Focusing on high-risk groups, the organisation uses radio, television and other kinds of outreach and education to boost HIV awareness and increase the use of HIV services.

Football for Hope initiative was launched in 2005 to help improve the lives and prospects of young people around the world. It offers financial aid, equipment, and training to organisations running projects, and organises events for experts and young leaders so that they can meet, exchange ideas and learn from each other while sharing their experience of working in this field.

Sport in Action also works closely with the in-country National Sports Associations to deliver sustainable and integrated sports structures, namely through the hub sites. This enables young people early access and exposure to national pathways and structures. It also ensures that by having strong and integrated sport structures, our sport for development work will benefit.
