UNIVERSITY OF SAINT ANDREWS ATHLETIC UNION AND SPORT IN ACTION DONATE GAS STOVE TO FOUNTAIN OF HOPE CENTER

The University of Saint Andrews Athletic Union in partnership with Sport in Action, donated a 5-plate gas stove to the Fountain of Hope Center.

The donation was made possible to alleviate the cooking challenges facing the center, which has been struggling with the ongoing load shedding and rising charcoal costs. The rainy season further exacerbated the challenges, making it difficult to cook on braziers outside and keep the charcoal dry.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the center was the Director of Programs, Mr. Godson Mwaba Matende. He expressed his gratitude to Sport in Action and the University of Saint Andrews, saying, “We are so thankful for the continued support from SIA and its partners for this kind gesture. This gas stove will go a long way in supporting the young people we have here.”

The gas stove donation is expected to make a significant impact on the center’s operations, enabling them to provide better care and support to the young people they serve.

Sport In Action along with all its partners remain committed to promoting active and healthy living for all, and will continue to work together to support vulnerable communities like the Fountain of Hope Center.
