HLB DONATES TREES AND K5000 TO KABWATA PLAY PARK.
The Kabwata play park received a donation of plants and k5000 from HLB Zambia, to commemorate HLB community day, which falls on 2nd June annually.
The business development and marketing officer for HLB, Mr. Micheal Chola, expressed happiness to be among one of the many organizations worldwide fighting climate change by planting trees. He was also impressed with the growth of the trees they planted in the first year of their visit.
“It’s so impressive to see how the trees have grown , I’m hoping that by the end of the year, the trees will have grown some more to provide shade for the kids.” He said.
The programs manager for Sport in Action, Mr. Mwape Konsolo, expressed his happiness and gratitude for the donations received from HLB. He stated that the donated plants will add value and beauty to the play park. Furthermore, he explained that the donated money will be used for maintenance and paying for utility bills for the park.
“The park being a recreation centre, it is accesed for free by the kids within the locality, so the amount donted will be used for things like water bills, toiletries and maintenance of the park.” He said.
The Kabwata play park is a popular recreational park for children and families in the area. It is run by Sport in Action, an organization that promotes the use of sports and physical activity for the development of young people in Zambia.
