SIA AWARDED ‘BEST SPORT’ DURING LIVINGSTONE COMMUNITY HEROES AWARDS 2024

The Girl Empowerment Alliance for Change (GEAC) hosted the Livingstone Community Heroes Awards (LCHAs) on May 31, 2024 in Livingstone.

At the awards, Sport in Action was awarded with ‘Best sports’ award voted by the community members.The event recognized and honored 37 companies, institutions, and community organizations, as well as two outstanding leaders, for their contributions to the development of Livingstone.

The awards were given in various categories, including tourism, business, media, climate change, gender, disability, youth empowerment, and education.

The objective of the awards event is to provide a platform for networking, sharing solutions, and inspiring stakeholders to improve service delivery and contribute to the growth of businesses and communities.

“Sport is a powerful tool for social change, teaching valuable life skills like teamwork, discipline, and hard work. We’re grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing our work with partners, local schools, and communities to make a positive impact on young lives.” Said Staffson Phiri, SIA District Coordinator Livingstone.
